Obtaining professional teen acting, singing, and modeling jobs involve going through teen casting. Casting directors are hired by producers to find performers for various projects. A casting notice is then put out by these casting directors who in turn receive submissions from agents and managers. What results is the teen talent being called in for an audition.
After their audition, the actor or model then becomes one among a pre-qualified group under consideration for the job. Submissions are kept on file for possible future consideration.
Managers or agents are hired to get casting calls for actors, models, and other talent but you don't have to be represented by an agent to find jobs. A teen can always submit themselves to auditions using headshots or other means, acceptable by each casting director.
If you can find a good reputable photographer and can afford one, it may be to your advantage to hire a professional to take your pictures. When photos are submitted to a casting director, be sure to include your contact information on the back of the photo. In addition to that, include a resume with any prior experience you may have.
Numerous possibilities exist to build your teen resume through school projects or classes. The earlier you start, the better.
